We have visited Sheila and Chris at Highwray Farm for several years now. Both the B&B and Stable Cottage are equally as special, full of character, spectacular views and as Sheila describes 'a home from home'. All of which have been a consistent draw for us over the years. Howvever, for us, Highwray Farm would not be as special without Sheila and Chris. From the moment you arrive they offer the warmest of welcolmes and go out of their way to ensure your holiday is hassle free and memorable. Our last visit was to Stable cottage in December, which coincided with the heavy snowfall. It was a pure winter wonderland.

We have just returned from our second stay at Stable Cottage. The Cottage is very comfortable and homely - very well equipped with dishwasher and washing machine, and lots of nice little touches including homemade cake and a bottle of milk on arrival, hot water bottles and board games. The views from the Cottage are absolutely breathtaking - some of the best in the Lakes! Sheila and Chris are extremely welcoming and nothing is too much trouble.

If you are disabled, or have any doubt about being mobile enough to visit the Lake District, forget your doubts. Stable cottage is probably the best thought out self catering accomodation we have ever found. Level accessible, and so well thought out you have to ask yourself why hardly anyone else can make something so good, functional, and without complications. Sheila and Chris have made holidaying for the disabled traveller, and family, a real joy. Oh and don't forget the Lake District!

We stayed at High Wray Farm in the B&B many years ago and really only stumbled over the place by chance. We are glad we did because we are now on our 5th visit to Stable Cottage and probably 3 visits to the B&B.
Love the place and the whole family anticaptes going back year on year.
