Kings Arms

The Sun Inn

Tower Bank Arms
This traditional 17th Century Lakeland Inn is situated in the village of Near Sawrey. Many of the illustrations in the famous Beatrix Potter books can be traced back to their origins here, including the Tower Bank Arms, which is featured in The Tales Of Jemima Puddleduck. Hilltop, Beatrix Potters former home, is situated just behind the pub!

Outgate Inn
Open all year round, at both lunchtime and evening and during the summer months and all day on a Saturday and Sunday. All meals are freshly prepared to order and can be taken either in the cosy dining room or in the bar area. The menu is varied and is supplemented by a Daily Specials blackboard.

During the winter months a real fire welcomes guests in from the cold and there is a secluded and peaceful beer garden where visitors can relax on warm summer evenings.

The Drunken Duck
The Duck is famous for its food and beer and also the relaxed and informal atmosphere of the three restaurant areas - two very traditional and one more modern.

The Glasshouse Restaurant
The most stylish restaurant in Ambleside occupies a converted mill with waterwheel, adjacent to Adrian Sankey's Ambleside Glass Works. It offers modern British cuisine that comes with a Mediterranean twist in dishes such as spinach, potato, and mozzarella pie, and panfried scallops with lemon, parsley, and butter.
